Pastor Dan Erlenbusch and his wife Karyn, have served in ministry for over 36 years in three different parishes. Their first church was in Garden Grove, California (1977-1985), then Orange, California (1985-1992) and presently (for the last 20 years) have served as mission developer and pastor of Spirit of Joy Lutheran Church in Ramona.
Pastor Dan attended California State University, Fullerton, and graduated with a degree in history. He then attended Lutheran Theological Southern Seminary, in South Carolina where he earned his master of divinity degree.
Pastor Dan and Karyn were called and trained to develop this new mission in Ramona. The ministry has grown to over 500 baptized members, and is now at the crossroads of building a facility that will minister to the community.
The vision of Spirit of Joy and the ministry has always been to spread the gospel of Jesus Christ to all people.
“But he was pierced for our transgressions, he was crushed for our iniquities; the punishment that brought us peace was on him, and by his wounds we are healed. We all, like sheep, have gone astray, each of us has turned to our own way; and the LORD has laid on him the iniquity of us all.”
