Russ has getting ready to uncover his deep pit and is gathering the wood in preparation. And he has just the right knack for slow-cooking a variety of flavorful and sumptuous meat.
It is always a great event with great food, games, and recognition of best Sunday School Attendance for the year. This year we will once again be giving away tickets to Disneyland, Wild Animal Park, and to the movies. This recognition is always an encouragement and reminder of how important it is for our children to be involved in weekly Sunday School.
Don't miss this... whether you're new to Spirit of Joy or an old-timer, this is a great opportunity to make new friendships and deepen old ones.

Summer Reading Group
Spirit of Joy Summer Reading Group
Are you looking forward to that summer television wasteland? Are you anxious to watch re-runs of last season's third-rate soaps?
If not, plan now to have a more rewarding, productive summer by joining the Spirit of Joy Summer Reading Group.
We'll select 2 or 3 quality books and meet 2-3 times each month to discuss those books. We'll have a few questions and topics to help us think about what we've read and to guide our discussions, but the pace will be more leisurely and the content more relaxed than our regular weekly Bible studies through the year.
Sign up between services at the Summer Reading Table or the Kiosk, and submit your best day and time for meetings and also nominate a Christian-oriented book for consideration. At the end of May I’ll poll everyone who signs up, we’ll set our meeting dates, and we’ll read the top three (or more?) choices through June, July and August.
