Begin Spirit of Joy: See the latest news about our new Church plans Page Content

New Church Building Program

Spirit of Joy is in the process of building a new church on the northeast corner of Highway 67 and Highland Valley Road. For many years our wooden cross near the north edge of the property has marked the spot.

After several years of intensive planning, environmental studies, and architectural  reviews we have recently finished revising our plans and made our second complete submittal to the San Diego County Department of Planning and Land Use.

The permanent building will have three separate facilities:

  • The sanctuary/worship center has seating for over 300. The Bell Tower is part of the worship center and provides more gathering space.
  • The fellowship center includes a full kitchen and will have room for over 300 people to gather.
  • The administrative/education center will house staff offices and have five classrooms, two restrooms, nursery area, and a bridal room.

Outside areas will include gardens, courtyard, meditation garden, orchards, general landscaping, and parking for over 150 vehicles. There will be a large fenced playground to accommodate the growing number of young families.

We are excited about the opportunity to build a beautiful house of worship at the gateway to Ramona, and pray that God will bless our efforts.

“But the angel said to her, “Do not be afraid, Mary; you have found favor with God. You will conceive and give birth to a son, and you are to call him Jesus. He will be great and will be called the Son of the Most High. The Lord God will give him the throne of his father David, and he will reign over Jacob’s descendants forever; his kingdom will never end.””
Luke 1:30-33
