Pastor Dan's Message
Pastor Dan at Men's Breakfast
As we come to the close of 2014 we must look back and give thanks to God for the incredible year that it has been for Spirit of Joy.  We are at a new crossroads in our life together with the major use permit received for our building in 2015.  Our hearts are filled with gratitude for the work and ministry going on in our church family.  We have watched the children and youth ministry continue to expand and do great things for the Lord.  Home Groups has been developed with many of our church family growing in fellowship, relationship with one another, and seeing growth in their own faith journey.  Our Good News team has looked for new ways of telling the story and being invitational to the community of Ramona.  This Christmas Season a billboard has shared the Christmas Eve Services and invitation with the entire community.  Twenty-fourteen also saw the Ugandan Orphans choir and the Mission Vista High School Treble and Women's Choir sing to standing room only at Spirit of Joy!!!
We have had a wonderful Advent and Christmas season with worship, concerts, special festival choir Sunday with Praise Noel, and Christmas eve with children, festival choir, communion, carols, and Christmas message.
As we look ahead to 2015 it will be a busy time. These are truly BIG moments for all of us.  In the coming month we will meet with the architect, civil engineer, landscape architect, Spirit of Joy building committee, professional building campaign consultants, bankers and financial experts, and the bishop of the Southern California Lutheran churches.  All of this is an effort to secure a timeline, begin our next building campaign, have finances in order and ready, and plan for ground breaking and building.  Please pray for all that we are about in this wonderful congregation.
These are great times in our lives together, we are the church....yes, remember that Spirit of Joy is the church, and God is moving us forward to the next part of our journey together as His family.  What a glorious time to be the church in Ramona.
We began with a vision and called mission from our very first worship together.  May God bless us in this New Year as we realize His call to be His church in this community.

SOJ Men Recycling
Note: The Men’s Fellowship collects recyclables to support our youth programs. Help out by collecting your aluminum cans and plastic and glass beverage containers that have “CA CRV” on the label.
Bring them to church and give them directly to Bruce Hindman or put them in the recycle bin in the kitchen.
Note: Please do not drop off recyclables at Gordon Hersey's anymore.
