Pastor Dan's Message
Pastor Dan at Men's Breakfast
On Sunday we will kick off our long awaited and much anticipated Capital Stewardship Campaign. We are on the threshold of realizing our twenty two year dream of building a new church home at Highway 67 and Highland Valley Road. This strategic location at the beautiful Ramona gateway will provide us with a unique opportunity to minister the Gospel of Jesus Christ in Ramona. I've included our Campaign vision statement below. As you read it, please pray for this project as it gloriously unfolds.
A Glorious Unfolding
The vision for Spirit of Joy since its organization twenty years ago has been to spread the gospel of Jesus to everyone. That simple statement is at the heart of who we are as God's people here in Ramona. With that vision in mind, we are now preparing to build our new church home, beautifully designed and strategically placed at the Gateway to Ramona, where we can welcome and invite all who pass by.
In our first phase we will build a 300 seat sanctuary and the fellowship center “shell.” Future phases will fully utilize the property with additional administrative offices and classroom space. All phases will greatly enhance our ability to become a more active, involved congregation, working together to fulfill our vision and mission of ministry. To complete the first phase of the project our total FINANCIAL NEED IS $3.5 MILLION.
For Spirit of Joy, the future is now... and it is a part of God's Glorious Unfolding! We are a growing and dynamic congregation and we are given the mission to fulfill God's call to minister to all people.
New Sanctuary: The sanctuary will provide space for 300 people to be seated comfortably inside, with additional fair-weather seating in the courtyard. We have space in the chancel area with bell tower for a large choir, organ, piano, instruments, contemporary praise band, and other worship activities.
Christian Education: Our new sanctuary with our completion of the interior of the fellowship center will provide room for our children and youth ministry programs to expand. The fellowship center will provide us with room for classes, kitchen, fellowship, and programmed ministries.
Music Ministry: The new sanctuary will provide us with a "performing arts center" for Spirit of Joy and the entire community of Ramona. We can grow and expand our music ministry program.
Fellowship Center: The large area for fellowship will provide room for meeting space, Christian education studies for children and adults, an expanded kitchen for all fellowship activities, and areas for performing and programming ministries for the whole community.
Parking: Phase one will provide parking for all who will be utilizing the facility.
Grounds: The grounds and campus of Spirit of Joy will be beautifully landscaped and will incorporate areas for children and youth, and possible summer concerts "on the green."
Now through May: Through our Capital Building Campaign we hope to raise $600,000 in cash and pledges and secure remaining construction funds through a mortgage loan.
June- September: Finalizing plans and breaking ground.
November-summer of 2016: Construction of phase one of our new Spirit of Joy home at Highland Valley Road and Highway 67.
This is an exciting and important opportunity for all of us to pitch in and help. We will be canvassing everyone to secure your pledges to provide dollars, time and skills to help with actual construction, landscaping, cleaning, installing, and, above all, your prayers. We can’t wait to get started.
