"He is not here, for he has risen, as he said." (Mt 28:6)
Palm Sunday Cantata

Holy Week at Spirit of Joy was an incredible celebration of God's Love. On Palm Sunday our talented choir directed by Joan Brown sang the Easter Story.

Easter Sunrise Service

Our Sunrise Service on "The Land" was well attended and our talented Youth Director, Alyssa Barlow, was in top form. It was an inspiring and rewarding celebration.

Easter Lilies & Flower Cross

Good Friday and Resurrection Sunday demonstrate the two signature miracles of God's love for us: Mercy and Grace. We receive God's Mercy through Good Friday when Jesus accepted the sin penalty that was ours to pay: an undeserved reprieve. We receive God's Grace when He adopts us into His family through Jesus' Resurrection: an unmerited gift. Hallelujah!

In-Kind and Other Contributions

There are many ways you can contribute to our new church home. Craig and Diane Jackman have been selling their rich and tasty Kenyan coffee between services for several weeks now, and every penny in sales has gone right into Spirit of Joy's Building Fund. What's the price for a kilo of coffee? Whatever you want to give. (Check retail prices at http://njoga.com). This sustainable and responsible Kenyan coffee is imported by their Kenyan son-in-law from his family's village farms. Craig roasts and grinds the beans himself and is both proud and humbled by the opportunity to help farmers in rural Kenya.

You might not have Kenyan coffee to sell, but you may contribute other things in addition to your pledge. Some examples:

Items with cash value, such as real estate, stocks or bonds, life insurance polices, antiques, art, jewelry, collections of coins, stamps, baseball cards, tax refunds, trusts, annuities, boats, diamonds and other gems, gold, IRAs, royalties, bonuses, etc.

Once construction begins, we'll also need in-kind items such as dirt (150 truckloads), concrete, lumber, plumbing, landscaping, electrical, heating & air conditioning, pipe, conduit, cable & wire, assorted construction skills and labor, furniture, security sensors & cameras, computer & office equipment, projectors, AV, stage lighting... and much, much more.

If you have an item (or items) you can contribute, please contact John Boruff at ramonajohn@hotmail.com.

Have you signed up for Amazon Smile yet? No? IT'S FREE. Amazon contributes .5% of qualified purchases to Spirit of Joy. Sign up at sojchurch/amazonsmile.

Drawing Correction

Last week's article on the drawing had an error. The prime reserved parking space is not included with the contributed painting: They are two separate items. Correct article is below.

Bob Alexander, our Campaign Consultant, is an award-winning artist who prefers painting to consulting. And he has generously contributed this painting to our campaign as the main prize.

You may also purchase drawing tickets for a prime reserved parking space for one year at our new church.

Tickets cost: 1=$1; 6=$5; 13=$10; 30=$20 Drawing will be held during our Celebration Dinner on April 19. Tickets are on sale between services next Sunday and at the Family Fellowship Event.
