Faith Raising

At our victory celebration service on Sunday we learned that we have received $675,667 in 3-year commitments, which exceeds our victory goal by over $75K. God is good.  We can now begin the process of securing a construction loan so that we can break ground later this year.

We thank God for moving in the hearts of all who have been involved in this achievement to date. This includes the campaign leadership team who contributed countless hours of time to helping us reach this milestone, and all who could make a financial contribution. Thank you all.

While we are thankful to those who have been able to contribute financially, we want to both remind and reassure everyone that our stewardship campaign is not over... in fact it has really just begun. Thus far we have emphasized financial giving, but at its heart our building campaign is much more about faith raising than it is fund raising. We believe God is primarily interested in growing our faith, not getting our money. We also believe that if the first happens, the second will naturally occur.

This sentiment was expressed beautifully on Sunday as we sang the beautiful hymn, All are Welcome. As you read these lyrics, envision ways in which all of us can contribute.

All are Welcome

Let us build a house
where love can dwell
And all can safely live,
A place where
saints and children tell
How hearts learn to forgive.

Built of hopes and dreams and visions,
Rock of faith and vault of grace;
Here the love of Christ shall end divisions;

Let us build a house where prophets speak,
And words are strong and true,
Where all God's children dare to seek
To dream God's reign anew.

Here the cross shall stand as witness
And a symbol of God's grace;
Here as one we claim the faith of Jesus:

Let us build a house where love is found
In water, wine and wheat:
A banquet hall on holy ground,
Where peace and justice meet.

Here the love of God, through Jesus,
Is revealed in time and space;
As we share in Christ the feast that frees us:

All are welcome, all are welcome,
All are welcome in this place

This is a mission in which every one of us must participate... children and youth, young adults, singles and married, parents and grandparents. There's plenty of work ahead: God inspired and thus satisfying, fulfilling, energizing, and unending. Please make a commitment to join us as we build our new Welcome House.
