Last Sunday was a great day for Karyn and myself as we had the opportunity to greet everyone, and begin feeling that we are truly getting back into the life and ministry here at Spirit of Joy. Having been away for over six weeks and recovering from open heart surgery, it gives one time to reflect on faith, life, and priorities. Waking up after surgery and seeing the smiling faces of Karyn, Nikki, and Adam will always be a powerful picture held close to my heart. Knowing that my immediate family, and all those in the family of God at Spirit of Joy were praying gave me a sense of peace, and ultimately joy in the Lord’s goodness. Faith, family, and calling are garnering my attention these days, every day!
I am so thankful to wake up to a new day, knowing that God continues to unfold His incredible plan before us. These days I am slowly working back into the schedule at the office. Trying to do a few hours a day, and saving energy for our worship life together on Sunday. It was great to be back among you on Sunday, feeling the wonderful Spirit of God in the midst of His people at Spirit of Joy.
We cannot thank you enough for the hard work that everyone did in our absence. From Holy Week, to Easter, to capital campaign, it is amazing the blessed efforts of so many at Spirit of Joy. To think that we have almost reached $700,000 in building funds pledged is astonishing. We are working hard now to secure the loan necessary to take the next step in ground breaking and building.
As we look to June, we have the opportunity to gather for the congregation picnic, and continue our support of the summer ministries for children and our youth. Look for ways that you can encourage and build up our children and youth. We are blessed with a wonderful staff that work in all areas of the church. Give them your support and blessings too!
We look forward to the weeks ahead, sharing in our future plans of ministry, building, and worship life.
See you Sunday,
