A Busy Weekend

Our busy Easter Sunday weekend actually begins on Thursday. Our big tent & chairs will be set up. SOJ Men will pick up our Easter lilies and large trees and plants and bring them to the Land. And our guardian families will pull their big recreational vehicles on site to watch over things until after our ground breaking Sunday morning.

Good Friday Service of Shadows 7:00 pm

Then on Friday evening at 7:00 pm at church we'll observe Good Friday with our traditional Service of Shadows. We invite you to join us as we contemplate the sacrifice of the Lamb who gave His life to set us free as we meditate on His seven last words.

  • We are also accepting donations for lilies to adorn our Easter Celebration on the Land. Cost is $8.50. You may take your plant home following the 10:00 service. Click here to contribute via PayPal.
Storm Water Runoff Task Force

One of the ways our dedicated building committee hopes to reduce construction costs is to manage our own storm water debris runoff abatement once grading begins. Runoff debris can result in hefty environmental fines, and abatement services can also be pricey. By managing this ourselves we can save a bundle.

To do so we need a rapid-response team that we can call on short notice to fill and place sandbags in advance of a predicted storm. For instance, the heaviest rainfall in Ramona occurred last year in July: It could happen again.

If you are an able-bodied adult or teenager whom we can call in such an event, please sign up with your name, phone and email on the kiosk or send email to sojmen@sojchurch.com.
