October is here, and Spirit of Joy and the ministry of the church in doing God's work is in full swing.  We lift up our two fold emphasis; inward spiritual growth and outward mission this month.  We will continue our study of the Anatomy of a Disciple and then move into the fall stewardship program "The Treasure Principle."  Our theme throughout this next year will be "God's Work, Our Hands".

With that in mind, on October 23rd we will be lifting up our emphasis on outward mission.  We begin at 9am at the church, with praise music and commissioning to do our various ministry tasks.  Those ministry tasks include:

  • First Responders:
    • Children make and send group art and letters (done at church)
    • Bake and deliver goods
  • Ramona Elementary: weeding, cleanup, and shed repair
  • Ramona Pregnancy Clinic: painting, dry wall repair and caulking
  • Busy Bee Daycare: planting and general clean up
  • Prayers And Squares: Quilt Tying (at the church)
  • Cornerstone Therapeutic Riding Center: trimming, weed
abatement, carpentry work, and general clean
  • Trash Pick up between our current location to the church property
  • Ramona Senior Center: clean up , pruning and trimming trees
  • Home Bound Seniors: Prepare, package and deliver meals
  • Financial donations for the supplies required for the above tasks.

Each task and location has a leader who will help to coordinate the day's task at the location in which you have decided to participate.

Upcoming eNewsletters will provide more detail about these and more, including group leader contact information and online signup information. You can also sign up during the next three Sundays.

This is truly a first in Ramona, for a church to be out on a Sunday doing great things in the community! We are hoping for 100% participation.  That means being in church at our single Worship Service at 9:00 on the 23rd when we will be commissioned to go out and bless others.

Our life together is an exciting one.  As we continue to do ministry in this place, we are preparing to build on our property.  You have once again noticed bulldozers and dirt being hauled in to our site.  We are getting ready to grade the property, and move forward with building construction.  This will take each of us as we pray for God's continued guidance and blessing on our construction, as we continue to share our financial commitment for the building, and as we offer ourselves in the building process.

One of the great encouragements in our faith is to be a part of a worshipping community.  Plan to be with us in worship this Sunday,

See you then!
Blessings, Pastor Dan
