Music Notes January 2017

Thank you to EVERYONE who helped with special music throughout the Christmas season!

Fall Festival Choir began rehearsing in September for “Jesus! The Advent of the Messiah.” Participants were Joyce Channon, Charlotte Collins, Joan Hindman, Dianne Jackman, Carol Miller, Beverly Payne, Pat Prasher, Karen Dietmeyer, Denise Dimmitt, Shirley Emge, Linda Porcelli, Trudy Woodward, John Trower, Marv Utech, Scott Brown, Tom Gilmore, Vern Paschke, and Harvey Payne.  In addition to the choir members, Shannon Stemper was the featured soloist; Tori Barlow added percussion; Andy Ray provided multimedia; Dougan Dimmitt assisted Scott Brown with sound.  Thank you, Pastor Dan and congregation, for your positive response to the cantata.

Christmas Eve the children presented a delightful program of the Christmas Story at the 5:00PM service, and Amy Lynn Kanner’s harp selections set the tone for the 7 and 11:00PM candlelight services.  Judi Loux’s American Sign Language translation added an additional element of beauty and power to “Silent Night.”  We are blessed to be blessings!

The end of this month it is already time to begin preparation for our Palm Sunday cantata, “Come, Touch the Robe.”  This is the same Pepper Choplin cantata that was presented last year.  The music and message is so meaningful, I had to use it again!

Interested singers are invited to a Meet and Greet on Saturday, January 28, from 9 – 10:30AM in the sanctuary.  Music and rehearsal CD’s will be passed out.  Weekly rehearsals for the cantata will begin on Saturday, February 25.

May God continue to bless our efforts to enhance and expand our music ministry in 2017!

May God bless and be with you all.
Joan Brown, Director of Music.

This Week's Construction Video

The grading is complete. The next phase is install storm drains and other underground utilities. Once our weather dries out we'll begin to see real progress. Please continue to pray for resources to build a worthy worship center. Click on the image above to view the current video. Thanks again to Harvey for flying his drone.
