Houseboats August 7-12, 2017

Our annual High School Houseboat Retreat at Lake Shasta is just around the corner.

This is a camping experience completely on water.  Live for a week with your friends on a houseboat with skiing, wakeboarding, banana boating, swimming, tanning, and floaties galore; add Bible study, worship, sharing and you come up with one of the best weeks of your life!

This is so much more than just a summer camp.  Sonshine Ministries, the camp organizer, is the leading organization and experience in discipleship and leadership for Jesus Christ.  In addition to the sheer fun to be had, the week focuses on evangelism, discipleship, and leadership development. This is an experience not to be missed.

Two of our alumni, Nick & Trevor Stemper, are both on staff this summer. Say hi to them.

Let your child or grandchild who is entering 9th grade or first year of college know about this great opportunity.

If you have questions please contact Luke Rios at

Registration and payment are due by July 23. Cost for transportation and houseboat is $330.

Looking for Home Group Leaders

Most Sundays Pastor Dan encourages members of this church to sign up for one of our Home Group Fellowships. These home groups meet over several weeks during three intervals each year (early fall, mid-winter, and spring), shareing a pot-luck dinner (yum) and then watching, reading, and discussing deeper aspects of developing a relationship with God.  For three years now home group participants  have grown in their Christian walk and in their love for one another and for their church.

Our next Home Group session begins the week of September 10. Signups will be available in August.

It is time, now, to begin multiplying the number of active home groups , so that we can accommodate more participants as well as increase the variety of topics that we can address in order to meet more needs and interests.

Therefore, we exhort you to prayerfully consider becoming one of our Home Group Leaders as well as one of our Home Group Hosts. (A host provides a regular place for the group to meet but the leader doesn't live there.)

In the normal Christian life, all of us should be moving toward the role of teaching: whether individuals or couples, or small or large groups.

We have much to say about this, but it is hard to make it clear to you because you no longer try to understand. In fact, though by this time you ought to be teachers, you need someone to teach you the elementary truths of God’s word all over again. (Hebrews 5:12 The Message)

Please contact Al Rogers at or 760-315-5108 if you would like to talk about joining, hosting, or leading a home group.
