It seems that we have just celebrated Christmas and the New Year, and we now begin our Lenten journey together in February.
Our Lenten Season begins with Ash Wednesday on February 14th. The service will be held at 7pm and will include special music, Holy Communion, Lenten message, and the opportunity to receive ashes at communion. Everyone will receive a keychain reminder to add to your collection and a devotional booklet, "Finding Peace in Lent" reflections on the St. Francis Peace Prayer. As we move through our Wednesday evenings, we will share in Soup Suppers and devotional each week, 6:15pm. The theme for our devotional times will be "Signs for Lent". Each week will be based on the concept of road signs and how their messages apply to our life in Christ during the season of Lent: U-Turn, Stop, Merge, Yield, One Way, Dead End, Road Narrows, Food, Cross Road, and Road Work Ahead.
Palm Sunday will be on March 25th, 8.15am and 10am with our Festival Choir bringing the Lenten Message in Music. Thursday of Holy Week will include the Seder Service at 6pm with potluck following. On Good Friday we will share in worship at 7pm with a Service of Shadows and the Seven Last Words. Easter Sunday will welcome a 6:30am Sunrise Service on our church property, with 8:15am and 10am Easter Celebration Services at the church. Plan to take the Lenten journey with your community of faith.
In the coming weeks we will have email articles sharing our year long emphasis on Generosity, and our efforts to be a welcoming congregation to our Ramona Community: the concept of Evangelism. We look forward to the days and months ahead as we continue to grow in ministry, and build God's Kingdom in this place.
Lenten blessings, Pastor Dan
Blessings to you all,
