We begin the month of March focused on our Lenten season, and our time together as we journey to the Cross. May these days be ones of reflection and quiet devotion, as you contemplate the gift we receive in the deep and abiding love of Jesus Christ.
We will continue our regular Sunday worship at 8:15am and 10:00am throughout the month of March with Holy Communion celebrated on the 1st and 3rd Sunday each month. On Sunday March 17th, our music director, Bryce Harrison will bring the Mission Vista High School Choir to celebrate our St. Patrick Day/Celtic Sunday. They will share the message with sacred music at both services.
We begin Lent with our Ash Wednesday Service on March 6th at 7:00pm. The service will include special music, message, Holy Communion, Imposition of Ashes (for those who wish to participate), and gifts for all who attend that include a Devotional Book on "The Sermon on the Mount", and a key chain keepsake as a reminder of our walk as community during this Lent together.
Each Wednesday during Lent, beginning with March 13th, we will have our traditional Soup Suppers that begin at 6:15pm, and include a brief devotional on the Sermon on the Mount with themes that include: "Salt and Light", "Prayer and Fasting", "Do Not Worry", "Judge Not", and "Build on Rock". Join us each Wednesday... and sign up to bring your favorite soup. We need approximately 12 soups each week to accommodate everyone who attends.
Our Holy Week Services begin on April 14:
- Palm Sunday, 8:15 & 10:00am, Cantata with our expanded Festival Choir
- Thursday 6:40pm Seder Meal (reenactment of the Passover Meal),
- Good Friday Service 7:00pm Seven Last Words, at 7:00pm,
- Saturday 9:00am Children's Easter Egg Hunt on the land
- Easter Sunday Services:
- 6:30 AM Sunrise Service on the land at 6:30am
- 8:15 & 10:00am Easter Celebration Services
- The youth will provide Easter Breakfast during the morning too.
We are excited about our Lenten and Easter Season. Plan to be with us and share in our journey to the cross and the glorious Resurrection.
See you in church, Pastor Dan
